Term 4, Week 6
Task: I can create my own magic spell and magic cloak in relation to our visual study Harry Potter.
This week you are required to create your own magic spell in relation to our visual study Harry Potter. You are required to write the magic spell and write a description. You my also choose to draw an illustration of what your magic spell does.
For example, one of Harry's magic spells are:
Colloportus
Description: Magically locks a door, preventing it from being opened by Muggle means.

You are also required to design your own magic cloak. 
Illustrate it in your homework book and upload it on your blog. Describe what happens when you put it on?

*Please also remind your parents we will be walking to the cenotaph near our school at McQuade park for Remembrance day on Wednesday morning and then Thursday walking to the Windsor Function Centre from 12.30pm for the Musical dress rehearsal.

Term 4, Week 5
Task: I can reflect on how I earned my money for the Socktober fundraiser (Catholic Mission)
This week you are required to reflect on your how you earned your money that you raised for the Socktober fundraiser. Use the following questions as a guide and upload your response on your blog.
-What jobs did you do around the house to help mum or dad?
-How much money did you earn for each job?
-How did you feel earning the money? Why do you think you feel this way?
-How did we do our part to live like Jesus through raising money?

Task: I can watch the BTN video on 'Harry Potter', and summarise my dot points.
This week you are also required to click on the following link and watch the BTN video. You are to write down 5 important dot points summarised in your own words.
With the 5 dot points, you are to then form a paragraph extending on your dot points.

Term 4, Week 4
Task: I can reflect on the Year 3 Excursion to the Nicholson Museum.
This week you are required to reflect on your time at the Nicholson Museum.
Use the following questions as a guide and upload your response on your blog.
-What did you learn on this experience?
-Choose one artefact that you studied in the workshop. Provide information on your chosen artefact.
- What did you enjoy most about the workshop? Why?
-What did you enjoy most about the tour? Why?


Task: I can create a find-a-word puzzle on Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone visual study.
You are required to collect a find-a-word template from school. You will need to create a list of 12 words that come to mind when you think of the movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. You may choose character names, places or belongings for example.
*Remember stick to what you know in the movie thus far (for those of you who have already seen the movie).
Bring the find-a-word to school on Friday, and a friend will complete your find-a-word.

Term 4, Week 3
Task: I can investigate the wearable art aspect of my chosen Ancient Civilization.
This week you are required to continue on with your Ancient Civilization PBL.
Use 'Wearable Art' as a subheading in your Information Report (on google docs), and choose a particular wearable art that the people in your chosen Ancient Civilization wore at the time.  Examples could be; a piece of armour, or a piece of clothing.
Write a paragraph of information summarising it in your own words.

You may choose to also upload it on your blog.

Term 4, Week 2
Task: I can investigate the jewellery aspect of my chosen Ancient Civilization.
This week you are required to continue on with your Ancient Civilization PBL. 
You are to use the Google Document to type up your draft copy. Later in the term you can then choose how you would like to present your PBL through Google slides, Keynote or any other creative way.

Your task is to investigate the jewellery aspect of your chosen Ancient Civilization.
Why did they wear this type of jewellery?
How is it made? (What materials)
Is there any history behind your type of jewellery?
Does the design of your jewellery represent something?

Please write in your own words. Do not copy and paste from the internet as this is called plagiarism. 

This needs to be typed up on your Ancient Civilization Google document. You may wish to also type it up on your blog.

Term 3, Week 10
Task: I can show what I've learnt in Term 3.
As we are coming to an end of Term 3, your homework for this week is to write a journal about what you've learnt this week. You are also required to write an academic goal for yourself for next term. You may wish to use the S.M.A.R.T strategy when writing your goal for Term 4.


Term 3, Week 8
Task: Multicultural Day Recipe Book
With Multicultural Day fast approaching in Week 10 you are required to bring a plate of food from the culture you are studying. This week you are required to write a recipe for your chosen PBL culture. Write your good copy on the google doc that has been sent to your email. You may wish to also upload it onto your blog with a little blurb about why you chose that particular recipe. Is there any history behind the food you chose? Please use the procedure format and upload a photo.
As a class, we will collate all recipes, and create a recipe cook book!
Choice Task: Sudoku App
If you have a device please download the FREE Sudoku App. Write a blog about how you worked out your Sudoku game.
Challenge Task: Spelling Words
You have the choice to write your own 15 spelling words for this week. You may choose to write your own spelling rule/focus. Examples of spelling rules are uploaded below.

Due: Friday, Week 7
With Fathers Day fast approaching you are required to choose 3 items from a variety catalogues (online or paper) to purchase for your Father or Grandfather. You have a budget of $49.95 and the prices of your products cannot end in a five or zero. For example $15.50 or $15.00.
-You need to show your working out and PROVE how you added your 3 items.
-What change would you receive?
-If you could add another item what would the new price of all items be?

Task: HSIE PBL
Due: Friday, Week 6
You are required to interview an ‘older person’ (grandparent, elderly friend or neighbour) to obtain a perspective of what shopping was like for them. 
Questions could include:
-When you were young, where did your family go shopping?
-Did your family make things at home (for example, bread) that many people buy at the shops today? What were these things?
-What are the most significant changes to shops and shopping since your childhood?
You may record 3 questions in your homework book and on your blog.

Task: PDHPE RECAP
Due: Friday, Week 6
You are required to design your own pattern for a bicycle helmet. You will be given a template in class. Please bring it to class on Friday to share. 


Term 3, Week 5
Task: CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
Due: Friday, Week 5
This week, you are required to create a new Chocolate and Wrapper for a particular target audience. Your target audience could be for young children, teenagers or adults. Please describe your chocolate bar and wrapper on the following template. You are to fill out the following template only and bring it to class (please do not glue it in your homework book). You may also wish to draw an illustration of your chocolate bar in your homework book and upload it onto your blog.

Term 3, Week 4
Task: THE NED SHOW
Due: Friday, Week 4
This week, you are required to reflect on the NED show in Week 2. Answer the following questions on your blog. 
When is a time in your life that you can say "Never Give Up?"
What can you do or say to encourage others? Explain when you have done this.
How do you feel when you do your best?
Why should you always do your best?
You may choose to draw an illustration to go with your reflection and upload it onto your blog. *If you decide to draw an illustration, please draw it in your homework book first.

Task: Charlie & the Chocolate Factory
Due: Friday, Week 3

Not only does Charlie absolutely love chocolate, but he lives right next to a Chocolate Factory.

What type of factory would you live to next too? 
Write a creative writing piece describing the type of factory. 
Consider the following
-What would it look like?
-Why would you choose to have this factory near your house? 
-Would anyone work there?
-Is it environmentally friendly?
-What are the cost of your items?
-What days/hours are you open?
-Where do you get your raw materials and ingredients from?
*Write a brainstorm/draft copy in your homework book. Collect a template from class to write your good copy on- this will be shared in class. You may also wish to publish it on your blog.

Task: All About Me
Due: Friday, Week 2
Your task for this week is to create a poster (collect the paper from school) with the heading 'All About (your name).'
Please include the following:

  • 1x photo of yourself
  • A paragraph about yourself. Who do you live with? How many siblings do you have? 
  •  Favourite Hobbies
  • Add your birthday 
  • Add a number sentence. Your number sentence may equal your favourite number or age. (You can use any operation) example- My favourite number is 8. 4+20-5+2-13
  • Favourite Songs/ What type of music do you enjoy listening too?
  • Favourite Movies
  • Favourite Books
  • Something I am good at...

  • When I grow up I want to be...

Term 3, Week 1
Task:  Recount
Due: Friday, Week 1
· Write a Recount on a particular day(s) in your holidays- you may have gone away, or spent some time with your friends. 
1. First, write a brainstorm in your Homework Book. 
2. Then, write a draft copy in your Homework Book and edit it. Show it to mum or dad and they will help you edit your work.
3.  Once your draft copy is completed, type your final copy on your blog ready to be published by Friday Morning. (this will be set up week 1- please do the typing yourself, as this is your own work.)
· Make sure that your final copy is the best work you can do. (Presentation= PERFECT)
· Remember to  make sure you have paragraphs, correct sentence structure, punctuation and grammar and correct spelling. 


Orientation-  This sets the scene and introduces the event or the characters or the people in the story.
Series of events-  This is a number of events or activities told in the sequence in which they happened. Each new event or activity will have a new paragraph.
Conclusion-  A general statement about the activities or events.

Task:  My Own Science Experiment
Due: Friday, Week 10
- I can show my knowledge of what we have learnt in science by creating my own science experiment.

Your task for the next two weeks is to create your own science experiment of your choice. Before you start, you need to ask your parents for permission.


Your Success Criteria as followed:

  • I can investigate other experiments on the internet and brainstorm these ideas onto my blog. You may want to add links from websites, upload photos or just brainstorm your thoughts.
  • I can use the experiment sheet given in class, answering the questions followed and upload them onto my blog. Link of PDF file below
  • I can show the process of my experiment by uploading pictures in a procedure format onto my blog. 
  • I can create a Journal on my blog reflecting on how the experiment went. How did the experiment go? Could I improve on anything for next time? Any hints for someone who would like to do your experiment?

Term 2, Week 8.
Task:  'We All Belong' - Religion
Due: Friday, Week 8
- I can show my creativity and knowledge of the Sacraments of Initiation by creating a collage.
Your task for this week is to create a collage with the heading 'We All Belong'. You are to ask your parents to look through any photos of you belonging to a special group such as your family, friendship group or sporting group. Create a collage using photos, drawings and particular words. You will need to collect an a3 piece of paper from class to create your collage. Use colour and BE CREATIVE!
Please take a photo of it and upload it onto you blog. Remember the 'copy and paste' technique works 90% of the time. If your teachers have commented on your blog that they cannot see your photos, please save your photo onto your drive/desktop and upload it using the upload button. 

 I can show what I learnt and reflect on the Year 3 Road Safety Program excursion on Wednesday 10th June.
You are required to reflect on your experience of the Road Safety excursion. Did you enjoy it? What did you enjoy most? What did you learn? What else might you like to research further?

BRRR IT'S COLD!!!
Task: Science Project Based Learning (PBL)
Due: Friday, Week 6
- I can state my opinion about whether I prefer to live in the hot or cold weather.
This week you are required to write a creative task. You are to give your opinion on whether you would prefer the summer season or winter season. You may choose a particular country you would prefer to live in. Make sure you explain why and answer in detail.

-I can collect data on items that are hot and cold in my household.

This week you are also required to choose 5 objects that produce cold air, and 5 objects that produce heat. These may include objects that produce heat such as heaters, ovens etc. Place your data in bullet form as followed:

This week you are required to complete a creative writing task.
I wonder what the world will look like in 2045.
How old will you be?
I wonder what technology will evolve?
I wonder what humans will look like?
Will there be flying cars?
I wonder what the environment will look like? feel like? sound like?
The structure of buildings? houses?
I wonder if there will be a breakthrough of life on Mars?

Once you have completed your creative writing task, use your information to create an artwork on what the world will look like in 2045. You may set it out as shown below and illustrate around it.
Type your creative writing task on your blog. You may illustrate your creative artwork in your homework book and take a photo to upload on your blog.

Task: Creative Writing

- I can show what I’ve learnt during week 2.
This week you are required to show what you have learnt at school Monday-Thursday of week 2 in a creative way on your blog. You are required to only choose one subject learnt in class. For example, you may like to choose Mathematics, and focus on what we are learning in that particular subject.

Task: Recount Writing

Last term we learnt how to write a RECOUNT. A recount has a special form-

Orientation-  This sets the scene and introduces the event or the characters or the people in the story.
Series of events-  This is a number of events or activities told in the sequence in which they happened. Each new event or activity will have a new paragraph.
Conclusion-  A general statement about the activities or events.
